This 1-day online workshop with Wagatwe Wanjuki, Award Winning Anti-Rape Activist, on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 10:00am to 1:00pm, uses a trauma-informed lens to examine how Black student survivors are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, current racist violence, and past and inter-generational trauma. It will examine how university systems and policies impact Black students’ experiences of interpersonal violence, including how faculty and staff can perpetuate anti-Blackness in our response to survivor disclosures. The session will include action steps to support and empower vulnerable students and actively engage in anti-racist practice in the classroom and beyond. Register Here
