Rutgers joins with the National Academies to end harassment in academic institutions, becoming a founding member of the Action Collaborative on Preventing Sexual Harassment in Higher Education. Through the Rutgers Committee on Sexual Harassment Prevention and Culture Change, the University is addressing these issues in teaching and research relationships involving faculty and students at all levels, including graduate students, postdocs, and residents. The committee’s recommendations, which aim to strengthen Rutgers’ nationally recognized commitment to preventing sexual misconduct and providing significant resources to survivors of sexual harassment and assault, include creating new policies and providing additional resources to foster an environment free from sexual harassment and gender discrimination for our Rutgers community.
