TFAP@CAA – Be Aware: Women Working at Flomenhaft: Conversations with the Artists

On Thursday, February 10 from 6 – 8pm, The Feminist Art Project and The Flomenhaft Gallery host TFAP@Flomenhaft, a reception featuring conversations with several of the artists whose work will be exhibited in Be Aware: Women Working at Flomenhaft. Moderated by Feminist Art Project regional coordinators, these conversations will explore highlights of these artists’ careers and their current work. As well, they will engage the 2011 TFAP at CAA theme of Feminism, Diversity, and Globalism from the perspectives of these nationally and internationally recognized contemporary artists. Exhibiting in this exhibition are Emma Amos, Joan Barber, Siona Benjamin, Beverly Buchanan, Amy Ernst, Ellen Frank, Mira Lehr, Dina Recanati, Faith Ringgold, Miriam Schapiro, Jaune Quick-to-see Smith, Linda Stein, and Flo Oy Wong. Be Aware: Women Working at Flomenhaft. will be on display December 16, 2010 – February 19, 2011.
This special event is co- organized by Melanie Herzog Professor of Art History Art, Edgewood College and Susan Messer, Professor of Art, University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, both TFAP-Wisconsin Regional Coordinators.
