Kon Kon

The Insitutute for Women & Art at Rutgers and the Dana Women Artists series present:

Artist Cecilia Vicuña debuting her film “Kon Kon”  (2009). This documentary, written and directed by Vicuña, is set at Con Con on the Chilean coast and near the Aconcagua- the tallest mountain in the Western hemisphere and explores the connections between the artist’s works and ancient traditions, while also providing evidence to the ecological and cultural destruction of the place.

Vicuña is the 2009-10 Estelle Lebowitz Visiting Artist-in-Residence for the Dana Women Artists Series. This event is in conjunction with the exhibition Cecilia Vicuña: Water Writing: Anthological Exhibition 1966-2009.
