i ni ce, thank you, merci: The Art of the Groupe Bogolan Kasobane

Janet Goldner, artist, in Professor Charles Owu-Ewie’s “African Folklore and Myth” course.

The Groupe Bogolan Kasobane, a collective of six artists from Mali, West Africa, is composed of Kandioura Coulibaly, Kletigui Dembele, Souleymane Goro, Baba Keita, Boubacar Doumbia, and Nene Thiam. They have been working together since 1978. All of the members of the Groupe studied painting at the Institute National des Arts in Bamako in the 1970s.

This event is co-sponosored by the IWA and AMESALL.
